Be Awesome or Else!

You heard me! LOL. I think we can all use a little reminder to be the best we can be, don't you?

I'm very excited to be guest designing at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for Challenge #87. The picture of Edna as PBS Bob cracks me up. Happy trees!

I had originally thought of using trees in my card, thus the green in various Distress Inks and Oxides, but I was really drawn to the Jackson Pollock spatters too. So I embossed the NT Topography background stamp in white--sort of spatters without the mess. I then used a hexagon coverplate to diecut that, promptly dropped it, then had to piece the hexagons like a puzzle. SUCH a Toni move, let me tell ya.

Once that was pieced together--I used Scor-tape to keep it all together, btw--I diecut it again so the awesome is outlined and inset. The other parts of the sentiment are embossed in white on black and a sprinkling of enamel dots added to draw the eye.

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

The Summer Coffeee Lovers Blog Hop is upon us!  A record number of sponsors and perhaps a record number of entries? Let's see!

Ages ago, I had colored up the LF How You Bean? set as coffee rather than jelly beans--I love their cute little faces! I think I might have colored them for the Spring Coffee Hop but that's as far as I got. So me! So I took those old beans and placed them on a brand spanking new sponged panel of glittery hearts. Love the glitter! Duh. I added Gold Wink of Stella to the jar lid and Glossy Accents to the sprinkled hearts because that's how I roll.

Super Exciting Narwhals!

A nautical baby card today--super exciting indeed!  I love the combo of orange and blue so used my palest Copic oranges to color the adorable PP narwhals. So fresh! The background is my usual 80lb coloring cardstock sponged with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass (for sure) and Mermaid Lagoon (probably). The purple spatters are Wilted Violet. I love that I can use DIs with non-watercolor paper and still get terrific results.

I'm entering this in Addicted to Stamps and More #247 Make Your Mark and TIME OUT #86 (without optional one layer twist)

THD 13 Mid-Challenge Reminder

Sometimes I don't get around to making a mid-challenge reminder card for The Heart Desires Challenge (shhhh!) but I had to this time--love the mood board so much!

For my card, I focused on the green and white patterns using a stencil and Distress Ink as the backdrop. I added texture with woodgrain patterned cardstock framed by narrow bands of black, like spokes on the umbrella. The black edges tie in nicely with the bold sentiment that is further emphasized by the sprinkling of berry dots. I love the white butterfly--subtle but oh so there.

The Details:  My Favorite Things Friends Like Us, Concord & 9th Floral & Flutter die, Versafine Onyx Black, Ranger Multi Medium Matte, Round Ink Applicator, Eyelet Outlet Matte Red Enamel Dots, Distress Ink Twisted Citron, Memory Box stencil

Cards in Envy White Out

Time for Cards in Envy's second challenge for June. This time you're asked to use lots and lots of white on your cards.

I stuck with pure white--oh, how boring, but no! White on white is the perfect opportunity to use embossing. That 3D embossing effect is amazing, isn't it? So much detail. The sentiment is done in the same white cardstock but stacked thrice for oomph. I love the simplicity!

Stamplorations CAS #18 Mid-Challenge Reminder

Time for the Stamplorations CAS Mid-challenge reminder using the optional twist of masculine colors.  Come join in!

I had a leftover piece of watercolored paper in shades of smooshed brown and immediately thought coffee. I used the Coffee Cup Silhouette Die on top of a masked and spattered rectangle in yummy shades of green. The sentiment is from the Coffee Happy set embossed on kraft cardstock. The Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Die created a funky border that I love with this artsy card. It felt good to get a little messy with a CAS card!

Use the code STAMPGIRLTONI to get 20% off all regular- and sale-priced stamps, stencils and dies! This code cannot be combined with any other discount codes. Happy crafting!

June Wedding

Today marks the second week of The Heart Desires Challenge #13.  Hope you'll play along!

I stamped the C9 bouquet on Ranger watercolor paper then crossed my fingers.  I tend to muddy watercolor--I admit I don't usually wait for it to dry between layers--but had a backup image stamped on my regular Copic paper. Good thing too. The central flower looked like donkey's butt originally so I colored it up again with Copics then fussy cut and adhered it over the ugly one. The pop of the white makes me happy sigh. I added dots of white enamel for texture and framed the piece for a bit of simple frou.
